Music Camp

$385

with Brian Gilmore

Calendar Next available session starts Jun 24, 2024 at 9 am, runs for 1 week
1 additional session on Jul 8, 2024

The Summer Music Camp at Ocean County College offers students an opportunity to explore the multi-faceted world of classical music under the guidance of skilled and experienced instructors. We provide students with an intense performance-based music-making experience focused on master classes, guided practice, and ensemble experience. Students will also receive daily group classes in music theory and history, opening a window to the great composers and their masterworks while covering concepts essential for developing their own musicianship.

Students will be divided into groups based on age and skill level, and will be instructed by Brian Gilmore and Katherine Roselli.

A native of Toms River, Brian Gilmore holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in piano performance. As a lecturer at Ocean County College, he oversees the applied music program, has revitalized the classical recital series, and regularly collaborates with faculty, students, and area musicians. Through his work as an educator and performer, he aims to nurture musical awareness and understanding in the community, while ensuring that students with a desire to excel in music are afforded that opportunity.

Katherine Roselli began playing the violin while living in Poland. After moving to the U.S. at age 16, she played in high school and university orchestras.  Katherine pursued her music studies at Mannes College of Music under Barbara Krakauer and Kean University under Sharon Roffman. She performed in orchestras and summer camps affiliated with the Paris Conservatory of Music in France. Today, Katherine teaches orchestra in Toms River and leads the OCC Preparatory Youth Orchestra.
