This program combines artificial intelligence with coding to create an unforgettable learning adventure. Students will construct machine learning models that use image and text recognition within block-based coding software to build a portfolio of projects. Student-created projects will be available on a password-protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Students will work in pairs or teams.

You and your STEAM Team will swap game consoles for creativity and joysticks for ingenuity and imagination as you take on Islands of STEAM challenges created with game-loving kids in mind!

We'll swap computers for creativity and mousepads for imagination as our STEAM Teams teleport into action-packed Mine Island hotspots. You'll build shelters, create crafting tables and gomining for materials - and be sure to watch out for those pesky mobs! It's no wonder our massively popular Mine Island Camp is a Challenge Island Kids Choice favorite every year!

NASA STEM Explorers

Developed in partnership with NASA, our campers will think and act like NASA innovators during this hands-on program inspired by the NASA OPTIMUS PRIME Research Challenge (NASA OPSPARC). Use creative and collaborative skills to design a mission patch, train like an astronaut, build a Mars rover and solve real-world engineering problems. How might you use space suit cooling tubes be used to solve a problem here on Earth?

NASA Journey to Outer Space

Take a voyage of discovery into the atmosphere and beyond as we explore planets, moons, and other space phenomena. Create a comet and build your own Mad Science rocket and participate in a real NASA style rocket launch! Campers will take home additional NASA activities to complete at home! Mad Science is the ONLY organization licensed by NASA to use these activities for Summer Camps!

Dive into making sprites move around and animate in a video game!

Take your game design skills to the next level by creating and animating your own character sprites, objects, and backgrounds. Start with a name, develop the character’s personality, signature moves, special powers, and a storyline. Finish with a fully animated character to be used in your very own game. Students do not need any prior experience in game design, animation, or sketching. Student-created games will be available on a password protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Students will work in pairs or teams.

Create your own Pokémon®-style cards, figurines, toys, & more!

Calling all PokeMasters who want to be the designers of the future! Use your Pokemon imagination and bring your ideas to life. Begin by creating your own digital Pokemon-style custom playing card game. Progress onto designing action figures, jewelry, and toys in professional-level modeling software. Learn how to prepare a model for 3D printing and create a design portfolio to showcase your work! No prior experience is necessary and 3D designs will be available on a password protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Students will work in pairs or teams.

3...2...1 Blastoff! You and a STEAM Team of astronaut friends will create your own Mission Control Station and soar through the universe. You'll learn the spectacular science of space while taking on a galaxy of cosmically cool challenges - from Rocket Launch Day to Moon Day to Intergalactic Day to Alien Day.
